Ce roman a été écrit par Isabelle Wlodarczyk en 2012. Il fait référence au mouvement ségrégationniste des années 1930 et est inspiré d'une histoire vrai, celle d'un adolescent noir sans histoire , James Cameron vivant dans l'Indiana, qui se retrouve entraîné par des amis dans un braquage qui tourne au drame. Ils sont alors arrêtés, mais ameuté par le Ku Klux Klan qui crie son indignation jusqu'à envahir la prison.

It's inspired by the real story of James Cameron which takes place in Indiana : he was involved with his friend in a hold-up which tourned into a drama. They were arrested and jailed. The Ku Klux Klan screams his indignation and invades the prison.

The titlle of the novel interprets the picture where we see many hangman in a tree with a white crowd who make fun of them.
